Breast augmentation is a surgical procedure that enhances breast size and shape through the use of implants or fat transfer from other parts of the body.

What is Breast Augmentation

Breast Augmentation is used to enhance the size and shape of the breasts. Using a small incision under the fold of the breast, around the nipple or the arm pit the implant is inserted into the pocket of the breast. This incision becomes barely noticeable over time.

There are various techniques and implant styles that can be used to achieve the patients desired results. Each technique has a slightly varied result and will be decided by both patient and Dr.Kashaf collectively, based on your needs.

Things to Remember

When considering a Breast Augmentation there are a few key points to remember:

Breast implants won’t prevent your breasts from sagging.
Breast implants aren’t guaranteed to last a lifetime.
Mammograms might be more complicated.
Breast implants might hamper breast-feeding.
Insurance doesn’t cover breast implants.
You might need additional surgery if breast implant removal is required.
Screening for silicone implant rupture is recommended.

After Your Surgery

Soreness and swelling are expected for a few weeks after surgery. Bruising is also possible. Scars from the incision used to insert the implants will fade over time but not disappear completely.

While you are healing, wearing a compression bandage or sports bra for additional support and positioning of the breast implants is recommended. Dr.Kashaf may also prescribe pain medications.
